Candied Roasted Walnuts 琥珀核桃

   


Ingredients

  • 180g Walnut
  • 30g water
  • 15g sugar
  • 10g honey
  • White sesame (to your liking)

    Steps

    1. Put the walnuts in cold water in a pot, bring it to a boil, and keep boiling for 2 minutes
    2. Drain the water, rinse the walnut with tap water 2-3 times
    3. Spread out the walnuts in an air fryer and heat at 200°F for 10 minutes to dry
    4. While the walnuts are drying, make the syrup by mixing the water, sugar, and honey
    5. Once the walnuts are done, transfer them back to the pot (no water) and add the syrup. 
    6. With medium heat, stir the walnuts until the walnuts are coated evenly with the syrup.
    7. When the syrup is almost drying up, add the sesame and stir to evenly coat.
    8. Transfer the walnuts back to the air fryer, bake on 380°F for 4 minutes, stir, and then bake for another 4 minutes.
    9. When done, place the walnuts on a rack to cool and crisp up.

    Comment

    • Can reduce a bit of sugar, maybe down from 15g to 12g sugar
